Please click on the Claim button below to report a claim online. All claims will be acknowledged by us via email. We will appoint a surveyor to carry out an inspection as quickly as possible.

You must immediately advise us as soon as you become aware of a (potential) loss or damage. We may decide to appoint a surveyor or an assessor to inspect the damage to determine the cause and who might be responsible for it. When you incur a loss, damage, or expense claimable under this policy, you, or anyone acting for you or on your behalf must:

  • take all reasonable measures to avoid or minimize any further loss, damage, liability or expense;
  • advise us within 2 days, or as reasonably practicable, of the cause and the amount of loss and any other proof or information with respect to the claim that may be reasonably required;
  • permit us or our agents to inquire into, investigate and examine the circumstances of any loss;
  • provide to us details of any other insurance covering, or which may cover, the same loss;
  • in the event of loss caused by burglary, theft and/ or malicious damage, notify the police immediately and provide to them all assistance to apprehend the offending party;
  • in the event of a General Average or salvage contribution claim consult us before signing any General Average or salvage bond;
  • whenever required by us, you shall aid in securing information, evidence, obtaining of witnesses and co-operate with us in all matters which we may deem necessary in the investigation, settlement or recovery of your claim from third parties; and
  • if we elect or become bound to replace or repair any item of the goods, you shall at your own expense produce and deliver to us all such existing plans, documents and information as we may reasonably require to do that.

It is the duty of the Insured, in all cases, to take measures as may be reasonable for the purpose of averting or minimizing a loss and to ensure that all rights against Carriers, Bailees or other third parties are properly preserved and exercised, specifically:

  • Claim immediately on the Carriers, Port Authorities or other Bailies for any damage or missing packages;
  • Do not sign “clean receipts” with no written notes of shortage, loss, damage or possible damage;
  • Do not sign “clean receipts” even if the exterior packing looks undamaged;
  • Where the delivery is made by shipping container, ensure that the seals are examined immediately by a responsible official;
  • If a shipping container is delivered damaged or with seals broken or missing or with seals other than as stated in the shipping documents, note the delivery docket accordingly and retain the seals for subsequent identification;
  • If the loss or damage is not immediately apparent at the time of delivery but discovered at a later time, apply immediately for surveys by the carriers or other bailees to be conducted within 3 days of discovery; and
  • If the loss concerns non-delivery of goods, the Insured must take all practicable steps to trace and recover any missing goods and to discover by whom the goods were misplaced or stolen, including reporting the matter to the police and any other responsible authority.

In order to ensure that claims are dealt with promptly, you are advised to include and upload all available supporting documents with your claim, such as:

  • Photographs of damaged goods
  • Original copy shipping invoices, together with shipping specification and/or weight notes
  • Original Bill of Lading and/or other contract of carriage (full set in the event of total loss)
